The goal of the second pillar is the development of fast and powerful data transfer technologies data readout system for experiments with the highest data rates. The use and simplified system development of radiation hard, intelligent programmable hardware allows data reduction close to the sensor. Furthermore, new optical data transmission is becoming possible that allow the rapidly rising quantities of data to be transmitted. Finally, highly parallel digital electronic architectures are used for fast preprocessing mechanisms to realize ultra fast algorithms on dedicated hardware.
